Potters residing or visiting in southern Utah and those around the world know creating a vessel from clay is an ancient art in which the artist takes the elements of raw earth to create something beautiful as well as useful. Each step in the pottery process is, in itself, an art form!
Whether you are an experienced ceramist who has created dozens of beautiful works of art from a lump of clay or an amateur who has never been near a potter’s wheel, please plan to attend the Pot Throw in preparation for the upcoming and very popular annual Soup N’ Bowl fundraiser for the St. George Art Museum.
On Friday, January 30, 3 – 7 p.m. in the ceramics classroom at Dixie State College (north of the campus on 100 South), potters and would-be potters will be part of the fun of creating bowls, which will then be filled with delicious soup at the upcoming 13th annual Soup N’ Bowl luncheon and fundraising event on March 6.
Of course, the kitchen in your St. George Vacation Rental condo will already have bowls in the cupboard, but this fun activity to create ceramic bowls for the Soup N’ Bowl event will be a memorable reminder of your time spent in Southern Utah, whether it’s a few days or a few months. Complete the form to on this page to begin the process of reserving your vacation condo!
